Half-Sugar Brownies + Sugar 2.0 Review (You'll love it!)

Make brownies (or any other treat!) with half the sugar thanks to Sugar 2.0! |

I make a lot of mentions about my family's special diet, and the reason we eat a little differently is because of some health problems our oldest son struggled with for a number of years. We all made the changes together - partially in solidarity, and partially for the well-being of our whole family. It can be difficult to balance sometimes, but I'm always on the hunt for safe foods or ingredients that make our diet healthier and more delicious.

A couple months ago, I found a company called Sugar 2.0, and I was instantly intrigued. I love the thought of cutting sugar from my kids' diets, but it can be hard. They're kids! ;) So I wondered if this would be a good solution for us. I mean...I can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners and I am not okay with all of the chemicals in them, either.

So I did a little reading, and learned that Sugar 2.0 was created by a concerned father that wanted to reduce his children's sugar intake. After lots of trial and error, he came up with a product that has half the amount of sugar. It's actually real cane sugar, and it's vegan, non-GMO, and contains 2 grams of fiber per serving. There's even a probiotic version that contains heat-resistant probiotics so they survive even in baked treats!

I've used Sugar 2.0 in all kinds of things lately - spaghetti sauce and sweet and sour sauce for chicken, cookies, mug cakes, and some amazing brownies.

For the super bowl every year, we make our own little family football pool with prizes like "winner picks dessert" or "fake birthday" (for that one we bake a cake and buy little dollar store presents for the fake birthday recipient). Henry won his choice of a dessert, and he picked brownies with sprinkles on top. Sure!

I based my batch off of this recipe, but I made some adjustments. First, I used coconut oil instead of butter, and Enjoy Life chocolate chips* vs the regular kind to cut the dairy. I also added just a little extra sea salt to the recipe knowing we'd lose the buttery taste with my coconut oil swap. Instead of regular flour, I used Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 flour* to make them Gluten Free. And then of course, I used Sugar 2.0* in place of regular sugar.

They turned out amazingly! Seriously - SO GOOD! They were so fudgy and chocolatey and were just as sweet as any other brownie recipe I've made. There was no artificial sugar flavor at all, and the sugar swap was a 1 to 1 ratio, so it was super simple to make the change!

I am totally hooked on Sugar 2.0 and I use it in every recipe that calls for a sweetener of any kind. It replaces regular sugar seamlessly! If you've got a sweet tooth and want to cut your sugar intake in half, or you've got kiddos that like things sweet - you have to try it!

You can buy it directly from their site here, on amazon here*, or in some Walmart locations (it's not in all stores, and it's not available for shipping, but you can see if it's available near you here.)

Also, I did receive some free Sugar 2.0 samples in exchange for spreading the word about it, but it is so genuinely good, that I'm now a tried + true customer! All opinions are honest, and mine alone! ;)
