Dining Room Collage (17/31)

Welcome back to 31 Days of adding beauty & loving my home! This post is part of a series for the month of October - visit the first post for details & links to all the other posts!

Welcome to my dining room! It's a little sliver of a room that only has two of its own walls. The others are wide-open spaces into our kitchen and living rooms. The three rooms form sort of an L shape, and the openness of these main living areas despite the small size of our rooms was a really big selling point for this house.

I don't have a whole lot of decor in here because of the lack of space, but I do have this one cute little grouping of pretty things you see when you walk in the house or into the living room, and I've got plans for another area (you'll see tomorrow!)

So, you see what I mean about the lack of wall space in here? :)

The big picture is Luke when he was about 7 months old. I know that it's very outdated, and I do have other 10x13's to fill this frame, but I just can't part with it! His smile, his happiness! And Jake looks so much like him at that age. The little scrappy garland is made from thrifted sheets (see what I mean about putting a garland on everything?).

The clipboard is from the Target dollar spot, and it holds a mini print from Pen and Paint. I've actually changed it out since I took this photo - I have like 8 or 9 of them at this size and I always switch them around. Right now it's her "You are So Loved" print, but in the small size of course.

The embroidery? I love this little project. It's so cute, it was SO simple, and SO affordable! I bought the finished embroidery from a garage sale in a picture frame, and got the whole thing for $.25. The frame was old and falling apart, so I put it back into an embroidery hoop (also thrifted for $.25) that I wrapped with gold glitter tape from the Target dollar spot. It's hard to see it here, but when you're sitting at the table, it sparkles and glitters and I love it! It was the fastest little thing I've ever put together!
