Christmas 2012

This Christmas was so much more low-key, knowing that we didn't have to host a huge party at our house! We still had our typical running around, but it was all really fun and enjoyable, and we could relax knowing there was not rushing home to keep things clean.

Christmas Eve was so fun, with each of the kids aging into their Christmas loving years! The highlights, for me, were seeing Luke's reaction to his new big kid bike (he hadn't asked for it, but when he opened it he exclaimed, "I always wanted this!"), and Henry's instant love for his new slide. Once he gave it a shot, he spent the rest of the night riding on that slide - over and over again. It was SO cute!

Early the next morning, Nana & Papa joined us again to open all the goodies Santa brought for us!

After presents and breakfast, we went to Grandpa & Grandma C's for fondue and more gifts. I must have been too busy stuffing my face full of fondue, because I didn't take any pictures!!! So unlike me, and such a bummer!

That evening, the Christmas party was at my mom's house. It was a little different that year...a lot of cousins were sick, so a couple missed the party, and some were late, and our usually "together" activities sort of happened randomly and chaotically. But we did catch a few moments with Nana & Yaya, and got to eat some yummy cookies, and homemade hot chocolate that Aunt Mallory made in her crock pot.
