A Bridal Tea

Have you ever heard of the bridal tea tradition? I hadn't, until I was doing oodles of bridal shower and matron of honor research for my sister's wedding. Not that I needed anything else added to my to do list, but I HAD to make use of this sweet tradition!

Weddings are so exciting...why not create another gathering to celebrate the excitement with?

It wasn't super fancy...I used a lot of dollar store decorations! But I tried to make up for it in the details.

I used a lot of handmedown crystal pieces that used to belong to my Grandma, and just put out a pretty bouquet of flowers, some little candies, and a bowl of tea bags that I made little custom tags for with my sister's monogram on them.

The guest list was small...my sister, my mom, our grandma, my sister's other bridesmaids, and myself. We put classical music on in the background and we all joked that it was so fancy!

For the food, I made pink cupcakes with pink and purple frosting, pink and purple pettifors (which were much more complicated, time consuming, and SWEET than I expected), and put out croissants and jam and raspberries. I also made those wedding cake cards in the background for all the guests to fill with advice and well-wishes for my sister. I set them aside and gave them to her on her wedding day between hair and makeup appointments.

It was all super yummy, and it was so nice to have a slow moment together with our closest family and friends before the craziness of the evening and the following day. I'm so glad we did this!!
