Housey Progress

As difficult as it is to make decisions on appliances, and even as disgustingly expensive as they are - it's really freakin' exciting when you've got GOOD, brand new appliances on the way.

Last night hubs went and got this:

Bosch Ascenta Dishwasher

And these:

Frigidaire Affinity King-Size Washer and Gas Dryer

I was REALLY hesitant to agree to the red. Not because I don't like it - I do, but more so that...I know these machines last quite a while and I didn't want to end up 10, 15, 20 years down the road saying WHY on earth did we get a RED washer and dryer?? BH made the final decision and I said "alright, but I get to blame it on you if these end up being tacky!".

Honestly though, I'm kind of excited about it right now.

BH is in the process of painting the laundry room floor a dark grey - there used to be a horridly tacky peel & stick tile in there that didn't adhere to the concrete correctly so there were missing tiles & crooked ones all over the place. I know it's just a basement floor...but I can't wait to see how it looks when he's done. And when my new machines are in place on top of it!

Other house news - we ordered the carpet for the living room & hallway - it's a Smartstrand by Mohawk. It's virtually indestructible while still looking amazing & feeling soft. I don't know the science behind it, but apparently you can spill a whole mess of bleach on it and nothing will happen. Kind of excited about that, considering I live with boys.

Still working on the kitchen. In fact I dream about cabinets now. It's kind of annoying. I THINK I know what we are doing, we just have to make a couple final decisions. We'll have to live with the kitchen from hell for about a month, so we hope to order everything next week to minimize the torture.

Today my goal is to look up the best ways to sanitize bathrooms & kitchens, shop for the supplies, and scrub the house this evening. We also have to work on finishing the paint in my bathroom (the only painting project left). Tomorrow morning, the move begins!

Yay new house! :)
