Fall Trip to the lake

Earlier this week, the boys had a little fall break from school. The overlapping of Columbus Day and Yom Kippur meant that there was no school Mon-Wed, so we decided to take advantage of that and take a quick fall trip to the lake. It is, after all, the very prettiest time to be there!

We drove up on Sunday afternoon after yoga & a birthday party, and got there around dinner time. We didn't do much that night other than eat dinner and settle in, and the boys played some Godzilla (which seems to have become the main attraction at the lake.) We also played a round of Uno, that I totally dominated ;)

The next morning, we made GF pumpkin pancakes. Jake was really excited about them and patiently waited for someone to come along and make them for him...

After eating, we all got ready and drove into Hammondsport to visit the airplane museum. This was basically Jake's dream come true, but all three of the boys loved it and really enjoyed themselves. They had lots of toys and interactive stations for them to play in.

There were amazing dollhouses displayed all over the museum that were SO detailed and adorable. This one was my favorite.

After exploring the museum, we decided to stay in Hammondsport to get some lunch.

That was super yummy - we even let the boys cheat just a little and get the single scoops of ice cream that came with the kids meals. I got one, too...I think it was called chocolate lovers. It did not disappoint!

We didn't do much that afternoon, but we did decide to go for a walk before dinner, and it was SO gorgeous! It was a little chilly, but the way the golden hour sun looked on the fall leaves and the water was perfect.

When we got back, we ate dinner, and then settled in downstairs to watch Halloweentown. Jake fell asleep in  my lap, and the other boys were drooping as the movie ended, so we tucked them all in and called it a night.

The next morning, we packed up and set out for home. I wasn't sure we'd be able to make a fall trip happen this year because of everything we have going on during our weekends lately, so it was great to make it happen with our long weekend. The kids loved it and already want to go back :)
