Summer So Far

I was about to say that I can't believe it's still July because of how much we've done since Memorial Day, but at the same time, I can't believe it's the end of July already! Summer moves at its own, strange pace, doesn't it? It's been such a full one for us already. We've fit in A LOT of fun!

Here's what we've been up to:
  • It started with our Memorial Day trip to the lake, and the biggest things to note about that trip are: I had the most stress-free fun there than I think I have ever had, and Luke caught his first fish!

  • I got to visit the farm with Henry's preschool class. It was so nice to have some one on one time with him - it's so rare!

  • June still held a lot of school days for us, and lots of school events within them. I co-chaired the Bike Rodeo, volunteered at Super Fun Day and the Kindergarten Picnic.

  • We went camping over the first weekend of June, and had lots of fun and yummy campfire food! It was a little chaotic this year, being that we left the day after the Bike Rodeo and a couple hours after Super Fun Day - I forgot a lot of supplies! But it was still a great time. :)

  • On the last day of school, we went on a Summer Vacation Tour and had so much fun!

  • Matt and I got to attend one of my best friend's weddings! Cheri is the last of our group to get married, so it was really special to us. Because she's been in the family so long, it felt like one of our own family weddings - complete with half of our family members ;)

  • We had family visiting at the end of June, so we were already spending time with them around the time school was ending. The following week, we went to the Drive-In together one night, and had a campfire in our yard the following night.

  • On the 4th of July, we were busy preparing for Henry's Birthday Party, but we still had lunch and fun with family, and then went to see the fireworks together.

  • The next day was Henry's party - you can see all the details HERE.

  • We broke out the kiddie pool and had a bunch of backyard fun with it! My kids are not big swimmers, but they love pouring, splashing, and getting soaked with water!

  • We celebrated Henry's actual birthday with a Birthday Tour, and having cake after dinner.

I'm so happy we have another month+ to have fun with - having all of my guys home can be tiring, but it's so nice, and we're making so many great memories. We love Summer!
