Because of the size and layout of our kitchen, we had to add a set of tiny 9" cabinets. It sounds odd, I suppose, but I wanted the stove moved away from the wall just a touch (to avoid a ton of splatters on the wall), and it created perfect little places for spices above, and cookie sheets and muffin tins below. These two are some of my favorite cabinets!
The downside, however, is the itsy bitsy slab of counter space it creates to the left of our stove. Or, at least, I suppose it could be seen as a downside. It takes 9" of room out of the main work area, and isolates it in a way that you can't really do much of anything on it! But I've made the best of it. At least I think so!
After some moving around when we first renovated, we decided that the knives had the happiest home right here. Yes, they're pink. And yes, I do have have a collection of/slight obsession with Pink Kitchen Aid items (including many spatulas, a peeler, a can opener, measuring cups and spoons, mixing bowls, chip clips, a colander, both stand and hand mixers, a pizza cutter, an ice cream scoop, and more...)
I found the tall pail with the chalkboard heart (that I have yet to write anything on, get with it, me!) in the Target dollar spot, where I find many things! I made the little skewer flag bouquet, and put a thinner vase inside to keep them more bunched together. Currently, the outside of the thinner vase is filled with some purple baby's breath, left over from a bouquet Matt gave me.
The calendar is from Gingiber, and was a gift from Maggie ;) I'm more of a cat person than a dog person, but this set is too adorable to not display, always!
The mini scrappy bunting was made out of scraps from the pennant bunting I have above my sink and above my back door. That fabric has served me so well! I just pushed a couple thumbtacks into the bottom of the cupboard and strung it on them.
And the white thing you see sticking into the photo? It's a wall calendar from Target. I'd show you, but it is so, so, super filled, that it's chaotic to look at. Phew - it keeps me on track, but I get exhausted just checking it most days!

Do you get warm fuzzies when you see such a small number the way I do? AH! That's been my favorite part of sharing this stuff with you so far. I knew I was being resourceful and thrifty, but I didn't realize how much!
Tomorrow, I'll show you the space between all of the areas you've seen so far. See you then!
