Mug Swapping 2013

Unless you've been completely cut off from the Internet or Instagram this summer (hey, welcome back!), you've probably seen your fair share of posts and pictures relating to A Cuppa Kim's Mug Swap 2013. This seemed like the best possible loophole to get another adorable mug in this house (because Matt is always shaking his head at my collection), so I participated this time! I never get in on these things, and that's clearly crazy because I had A BLAST!

In fact, it was one of my favorite things in August. So fab.

I really loved following the #mugswap2013 hashtag on Instagram and seeing all of the beautiful collections of goodies everyone was shipping off to each other. There are some seriously crafty and creative people out there - and the mugs? I want one of each! My husband would be angry, though, so one swap a year is probably the limit.

I was matched up with the fabulous Carmen over at A Blue Swallow, and the information I was given said she found beauty in color. I ran with it, because so do I! I started daydreaming about what I'd include in her swap box, and man - I didn't even have enough time to do everything I wanted to. Such is my life, but I still feel pretty confident that I sent her a pretty good collection of colorful things. In her box was a colorful polka dot mug (that I'm super jealous of!), a mug rug I made with some coffee-themed fabrics I had on hand, a loveforward bow cozy for her take out coffees, a tiny coffee cup canvas I painted (and fell so in love with I made one for myself!), a card, and a yummy Lindt "truffle" candy bar! And she seems to like it all, so I'm happy!

Last Monday, right in the middle of a rain storm, the mailman came to my front door with a package. Yahoo!!! I knew it was MY mug!

My other swap buddy, Stacy from The Fancy Fritter, found me on Instagram in advance - and she sure got to know me, because...did she GET ME, or what?

When I opened the box and just saw the pretty paper on top, I was excited! And the more I pulled out, the bigger my smile was! She NAILED IT! The mug holds a gloriously large amount of coffee, and while it's like a regular ceramic mug, it came with a plastic to-go lid, too! That is PERFECT for the busy preschool mornings when I pour myself a cup of coffee and need to head out the door before I'm ready to part with it. I LOVE IT!

I had so much fun participating this year, I wish I didn't have to wait a whole year to do it again! Thank you so much for hosting, Kim! And THANK YOU, Stacy, for the perfect mug swap box!
