Fall Family Fun List 2013

Last year, I posted our Fall Family To Do List 2012, and it was a hit! Not only did we complete 28/45 things I planned to do (not too shabby!) it was one of my most popular posts of all time on this blog! So it seems to me like most of you are looking for some fun things to do this time of year, too!

I've had to shorten and simplify my list this year because...I'm having a baby! Right in the middle of the season! This is both thrilling and a bit hindering to our usual plans, but I think I adjusted my list pretty well considering the circumstances. Any outings I have listed (with the exception of two scheduled in early October) are going to be completed in September. I'm always itching to get into the fall spirit, and this year I actually have a good excuse to start early! The plus side to this is that the weather will likely cooperate a bit better for us, but we'll have to sacrifice pretty leaves and crisper breezes in order to fit it in. Eh, ya win some, ya lose some.

So here's what I'm hoping we can fit in despite the chaos of welcoming a new baby to our family!

1. Take a first day of school picture (Sept 9th)
2. Go Apple Picking (maybe on a smaller scale - less apples)
3. Take a Nature walk at Margaret Louise park
4. Have a fall picnic (look up some yummy fall foods)
5. Make a felt fall-leaves garland
6. Crochet a scarf or cowl, something cozy (Like This, This, or This)
7. Decorate the house for fall
8. Have a backyard campfire
9. Take a fall trip to the farmer's market
10. Go thrifting
11. Visit Kelkenberg Farm's fall festival (9/28 or 10/5)
12. Take fall backyard pictures of the boys
13. Take a fall walk in the woods in the backyard
14. Go to Dad's Octoberfest (Oct 12th)
15. Do some leaf collecting, rubbings, and crafts with the kids
16. Create a fall reading bucket list with the kids' books
17. Make a pumpkin hunt for Luke - this was a big hit last year & Luke has been asking to do it again!
18. Make a leaf maze in the back yard
19. Go to The Great Pumpkin Farm (one of the last Sept weekends)
20. Go on a hay ride
21. Carve/paint pumpkins
22. Paint my nails some cozy fall colors.
23. Go to BuffaloMommies Trunk or Treat (Oct 12th)
24. Make some popcorn and watch The Great Pumpkin
25. Make ghost pancakes again for Halloween
26. Make pumpkin cupcakes
27. Make hand turkeys for Thanksgiving
28. Make pumpkin french toast for thanksgiving morning
29. Try a new cozy fall soup
30. Make candy corn garlands
31. Paint jack-o-lantern rocks
32. Host a "fall treats" party - caramel lattes, pumpkin & apple yummies
33. Find fall movies on Netflix to watch with the kids (Halloween & Thanksgiving)
34. Have a fall baby! I think I can swing this one this year ;)
35. Plan a fall date night with Hubs. I mean, we have to while we still can, right?

What are your plans for this fall?
