Newlyweds.

For everyone that has the urge to ask, marriage doesn't feel any different to either of us. Things have pretty much gotten back to normal. We're as boring as we ever were :)

I think the whole new last name thing is the biggest change for me. Going from a last name that had 4 letters, to one with 9 letters is interesting. It's a whole new signature. Not to mention the mispronunciations. I still have to think about it when saying my name to vendors at work and things like that. My co-workers find a lot of amusement in making up their own versions of my new name.

The house is still great - though a never-ending project. We bought replacement blinds for all the windows when we got back to Charlotte. However, the previous owners put their brackets up when the paint was still wet - we tried taking the old ones down and they all try to take the paint with them. We aren't sure what to do about that since the blinds we bought have brackets about 1/4 of the size of the old ones. I suppose a little sanding & touch up painting would fix that...but it seems like a lot of work just to hang some $4 mini blinds. We almost want to return them for the bigger, more expensive ones and just be done with it. It's just hard to shell out that much money on something that you don't get to "enjoy" necessarily.

I've been going through wedding pictures & writing thank yous every single night. I have over 2,000 pictures! Between the photographer, my mom, grandma, dad & cousin...I don't think I'll ever see the end of them. And the thank yous....I feel bad that I haven't gotten them out yet. I know that "proper thank you etiquette" for weddings is to have them out within 2 months, but that seems a little ridiculous to me. From a guest's point of view, anyway. I'm really trying to have them all at least written by the one month mark, which gives me one week.

We received so many great gifts, I just want to make sure that everyone gets proper recognition. You'll all get your cards, but as long as you're reading this - thank you!!
